to shine a light on all
the St. Louis region has to offer
ST. LOUIS, March 2, 2020 — St. Louis has a lot to celebrate,
and on March 14, 2020, local
businesses, events, organizations and individuals will join together in
recognition of 3.14 Day to revel in
all that makes the St. Louis region a great place to start up, stand out and
stay. March 14 officially marks the one year anniversary of the debut of the STLMade movement that shines a light on the amazing things St. Louis’
innovative, tenacious and big-hearted people are doing every day to improve and
grow our community. The movement is supported by a region-wide collaboration of
residents, local leaders, institutions, businesses and nonprofits helping to
tell the story.
Since its launch, #STLMade has attracted nearly 30,000 social
media followers and has significantly impacted awareness among residents of the
St. Louis region. To mark the occasion, #STLMade invites the entire community
to celebrate 3.14 Day at a variety of truly #STLMade events and businesses
throughout the St. Louis area.
The excitement kicks off on Thursday, March 12 at 7 p.m. at a
very special Venture Cafe at CIC St. Louis with a panel
discussion featuring local business and community leaders moderated by Maggie
Crane, Communications Director for BioSTL. Panel members will share and discuss
how they fit into the STLMade movement and how the community can continue to
work together to develop St. Louis as an economically viable, interesting,
equitable and livable region. The
event is free and open to the public.
Then, on Saturday, March 14, a number of local events will
celebrate the #STLMade movement, including the St. Patrick’s Day Run in
Downtown St. Louis, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Cottleville and the 5K Pup
Run in Forest Park. In addition, a number of local restaurants, breweries and
businesses across the St. Louis region will offer special 3.14 Day discounts and products
in their locations. A full list of participating businesses and offers can be
found at thestl.com/314day.
The entire community is invited to show its St. Louis pride
by visiting these businesses and sharing the experiences on social media using
the hashtags #314Day and #STLMade. To read more about and share the unique
stories of the people who are helping drive our region forward from the ground
up, visit theSTL.com.
