I know, it's been a while since I've reviewed a game from Big Fish Games. I can't blame it on the COVID-19 stay-at-home order either because I've been staying at home. Well, I'm in the media so I have been working everyday but I'm home by 10:30am so I have no real excuse other than I've been playing Farm Up, which is a Big Fish game & I've been watching Mama's Family way too much. There, I've admitted to all of it! Now, time to get back to what I should be doing, reviewing things which is the whole reason I have this blog in the first place.
I'll be honest, this game was not the best choice for me to have picked as the first one to review after a long while out. Elven Legend 4: The Incredible Journey is a time management game. Some of those can be a lot of fun! I recently bought Amy's Greenmart, that's a time management game where you run your own store. I like that one. This one is a resource gathering game &, for me, those get boring really fast. I feel like if you've played on resource gathering game, you've kind of played them all.
I like being able to line up several moves in advance. I found out fast I couldn't do that here. This big obnoxious arrow kept popping up telling me what I had to do next. Excuse me, I don't like a game that tells me what moves to make. I want to play the game myself, thank you very much. Why do I want to play a game that plays itself for me? That was an immediate deal breaker but I played a little longer hoping it went away. It didn't. Even the bright colors & quick movement couldn't keep my attention. There is a Collector's Edition but I just can't do it.
Since the majority of us are on a stay-at-home order, you might as well take the one hour of free play & give it a try for yourself. We all like different things. Who knows? This may turn out to be your very favorite game! Be sure to subscribe to my blog before you leave because you never know what I'll review next.
