Finding the American Dream by Bill Clevlen

It's not everyday that I get to say a book has something for everyone. It's also not everyday that I get to review a book written by a former co-worker. Finding the American Dream by Bill Clevlen lets me do both of those things today so thanks, Bill! This book is perfect for history buffs, people that have the travel bug, music lovers & those like me that just enjoy learning in general. See? Something for everyone.

In Finding the American Dream, Bill takes you on a journey through time & geography to show you how the everyday dreamer became the extraordinary visionary we know them as today. This easy to handle book is broken down into sections so you can learn about people in different specialties such as entertainment, historical figures or inventors for example. You'll find that these people aren't so different from you & me. We all came from somewhere & now, thanks to Bill, you can find out about the beginnings of people like Muhammad Ali, George Jones & Edwin Binney. These people all had dreams & made their dreams come true. See pictures from their beginnings & be inspired to make your own dreams come true.

There are fun bits of trivia to accompany each person's story in addition to a great tag line about them to begin their tale. You're taken back in time with photographs & stories of how not all success was achieved on the first try. This is, after all, Finding the American Dream & finding things can take time. Look how hard it was for Charles Alderton to find the right recipe for Dr. Pepper. Don't know? Bill talks about it in this book!

Finding the American Dream by Bill Clevlen would make a great gift for anyone that wants to expand their mind about great people in America. This book, in my opinion, shows that anything is possible with determination, a little old fashioned elbow grease sometimes & of course belief in yourself. Zachary Levi to Star in "American Underdog: The Kurt Warner Story"

SANTA MONICA, Calif., July 1, 2020 – Kingdom Story Company and Lionsgate announced today that Zachary Levi will star as two-time NFL MVP and Hall of Famer Kurt Warner in American Underdog: The Kurt Warner Story. The film will be distributed wide by Lionsgate and is expected to begin production later this year.
American Underdog will be Levi’s next project, teaming him with the Erwin Brothers (Jon Erwin and Andrew Erwin), who will direct and produce through their Kingdom banner. The film is written by David Aaron Cohen (Friday Night Lights), Jon Gunn (I Still Believe) & Jon Erwin (I Still Believe). Mark Ciardi (Invincible, The Rookie) is producing. The film is also produced by Kevin Downes. The screenplay will be based upon interviews with Warner as well as Warner’s memoir, All Things Possible: My Story of Faith, Football and the First Miracle Season. Kurt Warner and Brenda Warner will co-produce.
The drama chronicles the incredible true story of Kurt Warner, who went from stocking shelves at a supermarket to become a two-time NFL MVP, Super Bowl MVP, and Hall of Fame quarterback.
“Kurt’s story is one of relentless faith – in his own abilities but even more so in a higher power,” said Levi. “When I read Kurt’s story, I identified with the quiet strength he found to persevere – that’s something I think anybody can recognize in their own lives. This is the kind of underdog story that sports movies are all about, and the fact that it’s true makes it even more special. I’m thrilled to be part of bringing his story to audiences.”
“Zachary was our first and only choice,” said Jon Erwin. “He brings a combination of humble charm and charisma as well as an intense physicality to the role. For our last several films, we have brought inspiring real life stories to the big screen and there is something magnificent and magical to Kurt's rise as a champion."
Added Andrew Erwin, "This is about an everyman who never let his dream die. Zachary was born to play this role – and when you add in his uncanny resemblance to Kurt Warner, we’re thrilled to be working with him.”
Kingdom Story Company and Lionsgate are engaged in a long-term partnership to provide event-level entertainment for audiences of faith. American Underdog: The Kurt Warner Story marks the third film to be greenlit by Lionsgate in the last 12 months.  Jim Miller and Chelsea Kujawa are overseeing the film for Lionsgate. 2020 St. Louis Craft Beer Week Postponed

2020 St. Louis Craft Beer Week Postponed

Due to the unforeseen pandemic, we will be postponing the 2020 St. Louis Craft Beer Week. As much as we love sharing the celebration of beer and what it means to this city, we cannot ask for donations from sponsors or risk exposure to our fellow beer friends with the unknown future of the coming months.

With all of that being said, we’d like to announce that we will be donating $2,000 to the Gateway Resilience Fund. This fund provides a short-term monetary relief to employees and owners of independent bars, restaurants, and shops in the St. Louis area affected by closures and other circumstances brought about by the COVID-19 outbreak.

Thank you all for understanding, be safe and we promise we’ll make next year even better than ever.
-St. Louis Craft Beer Week Committee

FREE Groceries for Needy Families this Saturday. Volunteers Still Needed.

2000 Boxes of Groceries to be Distributed at O’Fallon Park

Saturday, May 9, Noon to 3pm

ST LOUIS – (May 4, 2020) -- Crisis Aid International, a St. Louis-based nonprofit organization,  and its affiliate WINGS Love & Care Youth Center, are teaming up with community organizer Tim Anderson-El  and Alderman John Collins-Muhammad of St. Louis’ 21st Ward to provide free groceries to families in need. On Saturday, May 9 from noon to 3pm, families and seniors may pick up a box of groceries, including fresh produce and dry goods, at the O’Fallon Park Recreation Complex at 4343 West Florissant Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63115.
The groceries will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis and are limited to families and seniors. Cars entering the distribution area will be directed into pick up lanes and the groceries will be placed into car trunks by volunteers from the O’Fallon Park community. Guests are to remain in their cars at all times.
“The need is great and so is the generosity of hundreds of individuals,” says Pat Bradley, co-founder of Crisis Aid International. “It is a privilege to team up with Alderman Collins-Muhammad and other ward officials to help feed hungry people in the community.” Designed for the community to support its own residents, this grocery distribution is made possible in part by St. Louis-based nonprofit organizations  Big League Impact and Cardinals Care.
Volunteers are key to make this effort possible. “Just this week a group of officers from the National Guard helped pack groceries,” Bradley explains. “We’re also getting help from officials and residents of O’Fallon Park, Crisis Aid supporters and many individuals around the country who are eager to help people.”
For more information, to volunteer or make a monetary donation, please visit or call 314.487.1400. Volunteers are needed on Saturday only from 8am to 4pm. Those interested in volunteering need to register by calling 314.487.1400.
